This family friendly safari caters for the whole family, from the resort attractions of Sun City to tracking the Big Five through Madikwe Game Reserve. Entertainment options abound at Sun City, with theaters, a sensational water park, a crocodile park, games arcade, a sprawling casino complex and much more. Afterwards, retreat from the hustle and bustle of Sun City to the wildlife paradise of Madikwe. It is here, among the rugged scenery of the northwest, that you can enjoy twice-daily game drives, superlative accommodation and mouth-watering Pan African menus.
Itinerary
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This safari begins and ends at OR Tambo International Airport.
DAY 1 – 3: SUN CITY
Upon your arrival at OR Tambo International Airport you will be met by a member of the team, who will assist you through passport control and baggage claim, as well as with the collection of your rental vehicle. You will also receive all your travel documents at this time.
Spend three nights at your choice of the following:
- A luxury family room at the Sun City Hotel.
- A luxury family room at the Sun City Cascades Hotel surrounded by lush gardens, tropical birds and water features.
- A superior luxury family room at The Palace of the Lost City, with its exquisite mosaics, frescoes and hand painted ceilings.
Your stay is on a bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 4 & 5: MADIKWE GAME RESERVE
Drive to nearby Madikwe Game Reserve, a malaria-free Big Game reserve bordering Botswana.
Spend two nights at your choice of the following:
- A lodge room at Jaci's Safari Lodge, built around an ancient termite mound. Your stay is on a fully inclusive basis, with all daily meals, teas, game drives and walks, a "jungle drive" and child-minding.
- A suite set amongst gigantic boulders at Madikwe Hills. Your stay is on a fully inclusive basis, with three daily meals, tea and coffee, all beverages, laundry service and two daily game drives.
- A suite with a commanding view of game-filled plains at Madikwe Safari Lodge. Your stay is on a fully inclusive basis, with three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local branded spirits and beers, tea and coffee, two game drives daily in open safari vehicles, refreshments on game drives, laundry and emergency medical evacuation insurance.
DAY 6: JOHANNESBURG
Drive back to OR Tambo International Airport, where you will drop off your rental car. A member of the team will meet you at the check-in counter to assist you with the formalities and see you safely on your departure flight.

Five days’ hire of a Group D car calculated on a 24-hour period, including the contract fee, unlimited kilometers, super collision damage waiver, super theft loss waiver, Europe assist, tourism levy, value added tax, airport surcharge, option for mobile phone rental (must be booked in advance), national and regional maps, inbound guide / useful information for the tourist and traveler booklet.
Excluded
Gratuities, porterage and all items of a personal nature.
Child minder rates (except at Jaci’s Safari Lodge as specified above).
Meals not included above.
All drinks and refreshments (except at Madikwe Safari Lodge as specified above).
At Madikwe Safari Lodge: Champagne, cognacs, cellar wines, cigars, cigarettes and government bed levy.
At Madikwe Hills: premium wines from the wine cellar and lunch on the day of arrival and departure is not included and will be charged extra.

Entrance fee into Madikwe Game Reserve.
Single room or traveller supplement - on request.
All scheduled domestic and international flights, visas and airport taxes.
Gasoline and toll road fees, claim handling administration fee, a ZAR2000.00 refundable deposit, additional driver charge, young driver surcharge and cross border fees, if applicable, windscreen damage, tire, rim and hubcaps damage, water and undercarriage damage, towing charges, fine handling fees, no show charges, baby seats, trailers, insurance and call charges for mobile phone, delivery and one way drop off fees.

Rates are subject to a minimum of two adults travelling with one - two children under 12 years of age.

Tours spanning over two or more date periods will be costed up according to accurate rates at the time of quoting.
Due to the increasing global cost of oil, fuel levies on scheduled and private flights as well as road transfers, may increase at any given moment. As this is not a lodge charge, this cost will unfortunately be passed onto our guest.
Sun City Hotel, Sun City Cascades Hotel & The Palace of the Lost City Hotel, requires a minimum night stay over certain periods. Minimum 2 night stay required over weekends, i.e. Friday & Saturday and Saturday & Sunday nights as well as a 4 night minimum stay over 24 to 27 December.
