Itinerary
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This safari begins and ends at Dar es Salaam International Airport.
DAY 1: DAR ES SALAAM
Upon your arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport you will be welcomed by a member of the team, who will drive you to the Southern Sun Dar es Salaam.
Spend one night at the Southern Sun Dar es Salaam on a bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 2, 3 & 4: SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Enjoy an early morning breakfast before you are chauffeured to Dar es Salaam Airport, where you will board your scheduled flight to the Selous Game Reserve. On arrival, a vehicle will be waiting to take you to the lodge or camp of your choice.
Enjoy your selection of the following combinations:
Spend three nights at Beho Beho in a stone and palm thatched banda perched on a hillside with panoramic views of the Rufiji River floodplain. Your stay is on a full board basis, including a selection of game drives, walking safaris and game viewing cruises on the lake, as well as park fees.
Alternatively
Relax for a night in an open-fronted thatched cottage at Sand Rivers, with views over a wide and rocky stretch of the Rufiji River. Your stay is on a full board basis, including game drives, walking safaris, boating on the Rufiji River and fishing, as well as park fees.
Get up close and personal with the wonders of the bush during two nights fly camping at Sand Rivers. With just a bed roll and a mosquito net to shelter you from the African night, this rugged walking safari explores the game-rich northern parts of the Selous. Your stay is on a full board basis, including walking safaris.
Alternatively
Spend three nights in a luxury safari tents on a raised timber platform among a labyrinth of small channels, lakes and sand rivers at Selous Safari Camp. Your stay is on a full board basis, including game drives and park fees. Walking safaris and fly camping can be arranged at an extra cost.
DAY 5: DAR ES SALAAM
After breakfast you will be driven to the airstrip, where you will board your flight to Dar es Salaam Domestic Airport. On arrival, you will be taken back to Dar es Salaam International Airport for your onward flight.
